Never Forget An Important Date Again

We’ve all forgotten someone’s birthday or to call someone back, but recently I’ve found this great little application for Firefox which means that I will never forget an important date again.

The app is called ‘Reminder Fox‘ and, quite simply, it reminds you of important dates. The app sits in your browser and a message pop’s up at a set time before the event occurs.

You can insert reminders and to-dos into the in-built calendar and categorise them all – the important ones will show up in red when you view the list. For annual events, such as birthdays, you can set the reminder to go off every year to save you from entering all the info again the next year.

Never Forget An Important Date Again

You will need to have the Firefox browser installed on your PC for this to work and you’ll also need to remember to enter the info into it, if you do that you should never forget an important date again.

How to remove your Google Web Data History

How to remove your Google Web Data History
Do you know if Google is tracking your Web activity?

If you have a Google account (for, say, Gmail) and have not specifically located and paused the Web History setting, then the search giant is keeping track of your searches and the sites you visited. This data has been separated from other Google products, but on March 1 it will be shared across all of the Google products you use when Google’s new privacy policy goes into effect.
If you’d like to prevent Google from combining this potentially sensitive data with the information it has collected from your YouTube, Google+, and other Google accounts, you can remove your Web History and stop it from being recorded moving forward.

After signing into your Google account, type https://www.google.com/history into your browser. (Alternatively, you can choose Account Settings from the pull-down menu in the upper-right corner of a Google product such as Gmail, Google+, or Google.com. From the Account Settings page, scroll down to the Services header and click on the “Go to web history” link.) If your Web History is enabled, you’ll see a list of recent searches and sites visited. Click the gray Remove all Web History button at the top of the page and a subsequent OK button to clear your Web History.

Just the way I like it, empty and paused.
This action also pauses the Web History feature so that it will no longer track your Web searches and whereabouts. If you’d like to fire it back up, simply click the blue Resume button.

Make Time For A Holiday

A previous post earlier this week gave some tips about how to relax and take a short break from work. I came across the below article today that gives some more great ideas about how to fit a longer break into your work schedule.

Make Time For A Holiday

Plan things well!

The old adage, “I pay the cost to be the boss” holds a particular meaning, especially when it comes to take time off from your business. For this, wholesalers must figure out business plans well ahead of time. Even planning vacation in advance lets you work harder to meet your targets. Planning aids you for vacations as well as work, otherwise, last-minute plan will leave you in a difficult situation and it would be highly unfair to the persons involved.

Don’t forget your business cycle!

If you run a business related to wholesale products; forget starting occasional vacations before certain important occasion such as leaves before Christmas and Easter. Most of the bulk sales occur before the Holiday Season as trade customers do the stocking to not run short of the supplies needed by the countless avid spenders looking to buying important and casual items in sale. Start your occasional leaves by working according to the schedule and after completing your customer orders.

Take help from co-workers!

Sometimes, it becomes necessary to take a week or two off. To cope up with business demands during such situations, you must train your co-workers and subordinates to deal with the work load efficiently by processing orders, receiving shipments, sourcing wholesale products, responding to emails, managing customer complaints and marketing the business. For this you need trustworthy colleagues who you can refer your work to and take proper time off without worrying about low sales or no business activity.

Schedule “short work breaks” during holidays!

Breaks are really important for business owners but alas you guys cannot stay away from work for long. Nowadays, the nature of different business has also changed and it does not allow you to completely shut your work down for an entire week. Therefore, it is advised to make a schedule before taking holidays and give some time to your work as well by checking your emails and directing your co-workers through phone about how to proceed further. Just spend about an hour on your work and it will give you more relaxation than cutting yourself completely off from work for a whole week or more.

I hope that you have found those useful, are there any other ways that you use to plan a holiday?

£25,000 to Spend…

£25,000 to Spend...
£25,000 to Spend... photo credit: LulaTaHula

We all say ‘If I won the lottery I’d….’ which we all know is just hypothetical and unrealistic. What would I do if I won the lottery? In no particular order:

  • Buy a new house and rent out my current one
  • Buy a really nice new car (The wife said I’m going to be limited to how many I can have!)
  • Learn how to fly – In a plane of course – with a view to having an air-taxi business.

Now all those things are just dreams, the chances are it will never ever happen.

But what about something a bit more realistic? How about if you had £25,000 to spend on anything you wanted, what would you spend it on? There’s no reason for me picking that figure, but it will be interesting to see what people would spend it on. EDIT: this post was scheduled prior to me seeing that the price on Young Apprentice was £25,000.

I look forward to reading your replies….
